Black River United Way (BRUW) values the trust our donors, volunteers, partners, and other stakeholders place in our organization. We are committed to respecting individual privacy and responsibly gathering, using, and safeguarding personal information.

COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Black River United Way may collect personal information voluntarily provided through our website, donation and pledge forms, workplace giving campaigns, volunteer registrations, event registrations, and other interactions with BRUW.

Information collected may include a donor or stakeholder's name, mailing address, email address, phone number, employer, donation or pledge information, volunteer information, and other information voluntarily provided to BRUW.

BRUW may use this information to:

SHARING PERSONAL INFORMATION
Relationships with Black River United Way are voluntary and confidential.
Black River United Way will not sell, rent, or trade personal information. BRUW will not share donor or stakeholder information with outside organizations for their independent marketing or fundraising purposes without consent.

BRUW may provide limited personal information to trusted service providers when necessary to process donations, maintain donor records, administer workplace campaigns, distribute communications, or provide other services on BRUW's behalf. Information shared for these purposes will be limited to what is reasonably necessary to perform those services.

When donations or pledges are made through an employer-sponsored workplace campaign or third-party giving platform, BRUW may receive donor information based on the information the donor has authorized the employer or platform to release.

DONOR CHOICE AND ANONYMITY
Black River United Way respects the preferences of our donors and stakeholders.

Donors may request that their gifts remain anonymous and may opt out of being publicly recognized in donor lists, publications, websites, social media, or other BRUW materials. Donors may indicate this preference when making a gift or contact BRUW at any time to request anonymity.

Donors and stakeholders may also request to limit or discontinue communications from BRUW. Email recipients may use the unsubscribe option included in applicable communications or contact BRUW directly to update their communication preferences.

BRUW will make reasonable efforts to honor requests regarding anonymity, recognition, and communication preferences.

SECURING PERSONAL INFORMATION
The privacy and security of personal information are important to Black River United Way. BRUW takes reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect donor and stakeholder information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.

BRUW utilizes reputable service providers and platforms for functions such as online giving, payment processing, donor management, and communications. Access to personal information maintained by BRUW is limited to authorized individuals who require the information to perform legitimate organizational responsibilities.

While BRUW takes reasonable precautions to safeguard personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Donors and stakeholders may contact Black River United Way at any time to:
